History
Brickwork India was founded by Vivek Kulkarni, the former IT Secretary Government of Karnataka-Bangalore. Vivek was heading the government office that was responsible for attracting high technology, bio technology, and healthcare companies to the state. This created a mini revolution in many cities in Karnataka. For instance Bangalore creates over 200,000 jobs and 12 million new office sq. ft. space every year. Vivek took an early retirement from that position and started his own company - B2K Corp.
Vivek has over 25 years of experience in managing different verticals of Business and Government departments. He was the IT & BT Secretary, Bangalore. He has done extensive work in marketing Bangalore at the International level. During his tenure as IT secretary, every week Bangalore has seen one new 100% foreign equity firm setting their office. Prior to this, he was the Finance Secretary (Resources) of Karnataka. He was Division Chief SEBI and Head of Advisory Services in CRISIL, where he developed the first risk assessment model for Indian mutual funds.
He is also a Director as well as Chairman of Technology Committee on the Board of the Bombay Stock Exchange, the oldest exchange in India. He has been widely quoted in New York Times best sellers like The World is Flat, The 4 Hour Work-Week, etc. He was an adjunct faculty in finance with the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Presently he is also a Visiting Professor in Finance & Risk Management at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Vivek is a gold medalist in Bachelor of Engineering from Karnataka University and also an MBA in Finance & Information Systems from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
