What kind of engagement models do you have? |
Our clients' requirements being quite diverse, Brickwork's engagement models are tailored to be flexible and you can select whichever model suits your requirement. We work on 3 basic engagement models: Retainer/Resource Model: In this model, the client hires a dedicated REA/team of REAs to work on their project on a long term and ongoing basis. Such projects typically last from 3 months to 3 years. You can buy resource time based on your requirements: | | | 10 hours per week for an entire month | | | ; | 20 hours per week for an entire month | | | | 40 hours per week for an entire month | Project Model (Fixed Bid): This model is suitable for a fixed project schedule with clear deliverables and milestones and timeframe. This would include business plans, industry analysis, market research projects, web development, etc. QuickWork Model (Hourly Basis): For assignments which fall within the purview of our services, but do not require an extended timeframe, we offer the QuickWork model, where we charge you on an hourly basis. |
What are the costs? |
The cost depends on the engagement model and the type of service you want – Basic or Premium services. For premium services, we make a quote only after understanding the scope of the project. |
How is an agreement entered into? |
Once we receive your enquiry, our business consulting team will contact you through e-mail to get more details, answer your queries and/or schedule a call. Any information you could provide us about your business and requirements prior to the call would help in our preparation. Once we discuss and finalize the project with our clients, we will send you an “Agreement of Engagement” document which outlines the scope of work, engagement period, pricing and payment terms, contact details etc. You sign and fax it back to indicate your agreement to the terms. Once we receive the advance payment, we begin work on your assignment. Please note that all our projects are subject to the Brickwork India Terms and Conditions, which also include non-disclosure and confidentiality clauses. These are posted on our website. Please read these terms carefully to understand clearly how we would be working together.

Would the timescale be agreed upfront? What would happen if this was over/under estimated? What flexibility do you offer? |
Based on the information that you give us at the beginning of the project, we will try to estimate the most realistic timelines for your project. However, it is possible that as the project moves forward, we may come up against some unexpected problems in finding the research material, and this may increase the timelines. Often the client changes or adds to the scope of the project midway, and this too extends the timelines. It is also possible that the project turns out to be simpler than what we had expected and we may finish the project earlier. In both cases, we are transparent and would ask you either to give us additional work to utilize the balance hours or to pay for the additional hours. |
Do I have to pay in advance? And can you refund the advance? |
You have to pay an advance depending on the type of the engagement. |
| | | For resource/retainer model, pay one month fee as advance | | | | For project model (fixed bid), 50% of the total fees | | | | For Quick Work model (hourly basis), pay the entire amount in advance | |
Once we receive the advance money, it might take us 1-5 working days to start your project, depending on resource availability. Advance money is not refundable. Incase of shortfall in service, we are ready to work additionally, provided there is mail documentation of your feedback throughout the engagement term. This recourse would be based on facts and evidence and at the sole discretion of Brickwork.
How is the invoicing done? |
Retainer Model Buy the hours as per your requirements. Pay one month’s payment in advance at the beginning of the project. Your remote assistant will begin assignment once we receive the payment. We will send you an advance invoice at the beginning of the engagement and in the third week of every succeeding month. The invoice is payable within 7 days of receipt of invoice. Work continues only if the payment is received in time before the next month begins.

We will send n invoice for the remaining 50% on completion of the project. This is payable within 7 days of receipt of invoice, or you will incur an interest of 1% per month of delay. |

Would there be any additional costs? |
We take into account the scope of the project before making the quote for fees. However there are some projects where we have to incur communication charges, travel charges etc, which we will charge at actual and the client would reimburse us for the same. All these would be mentioned clearly in the engagement agreement upfront, and we would take your authorization before we incur the cost. If you want the REA to work on weekends or have to complete an emergency delivery at short notice, Brickwork will take up the responsibility subject to availability of resources and under condition that the payment will be 1.5 times the hourly rate We do not charge for the standard software tools as well as a few databases. However, if you need us to use a particular database/tool/license/software etc, either you can provide it or you can reimburse us for our use of it. |
For retainer models, what is the procedure for extension of an agreement? |
You can inform your point of contact (Delivery Manager/TL) of your intention to extend the contract. They will then discuss the period of extension, pricing, scope of work, etc. and make a new engagement document. Once this is signed by both parties, the project continues. |
